It is our pleasure to invite you to the 31st Annual Meeting of the Society of Virology (GfV) from March 30 to April 2, 2022. When we decided to organize this meeting we had of course been hoping to be able to invite you to the Bavarian capital, Munich, in person.
Owing to the ongoing SARS-CoV-2 pandemic we had to adapt our plans and will now use a hybrid format, combing on-site speakers and audience with a virtual format for this meeting. Short-term developments of the situation in Germany and globally as well as local regulations will of course strongly influence the final number of participants that can attend in person. The 2022 Annual GfV Meeting will devote enough time to SARS-CoV-2 research to allow everybody to catch up with the latest developments and to discuss “hot topics” with national and international experts.
The recently founded „junge GfV“, which focusses on our junior members, will organize a round table discussion during this meeting to foster the exchange between all generations and experience levels of virologists.
Join us in three full days of inspiring lectures and talks and poster presentations that provide ample opportunity for exchange. The program again comprises an impressive lineup of keynote lectures that will provide highlights on new developments in all areas of virology as well as related disciplines. The oral contributions and posters will be selected with a particular focus on young scientists, enabling them to present their achievements, exchange ideas, and establish new links with junior and senior colleagues from other research groups.
On behalf of the organizing committee
